Dr. Dale Tanner Mt. Pleasant , SC

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you with mixed emotions; I began my dental career in 1983 after studying at MUSC, and after all of these years, I am officially retiring this summer.

Many of you have heard me say that I treat people and not teeth. Hence, I have always considered my patients as part of my family, and I will greatly miss our frequent visits. I am humbled by and grateful for your confidence in me throughout these years; it means more to me than you will ever know. My dental practice has always been a source of pride and satisfaction for me. Dentistry is a young person’s game, and I’m ready to ride off into the sunset with Grateful Dead on my speakers and yoga in the mornings. My patient’s care is very important to me, and I want to assure you that it will be continued. Knowing my patients are in great hands is a huge relief and makes retirement a little easier. I will be leaving you in the extremely capable hands of both Dr. Kate West and Dr. Chris Rivers. Dr. Rivers is a familiar face to you, but I wanted to officially introduce Dr. West. I have known Kate’s family for decades, and I am excited she is here. She has been working with me since the spring, and I am very impressed by her ethics, expertise, and character. I am supremely confident that our practice will continue to serve you well, and that you will be in good hands.

Dr. West grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Clemson University. She then earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from MUSC. She continued her education by completing an optional year of General Practice Residency in Columbia, SC. She has been practicing in Charleston for a few years now, and is excited to join our dental family. Kate is recently married to her husband Henry. I have had the pleasure of knowing the West family for many years. Henry is a Mount Pleasant native, and he and Kate have a yellow English lab named Carl.

Dr. Dale TannerOur staff, (Jeannie, Karen, Victoria, Natalie, and both Susans) will remain with the practice and continue the personal and professional relationships we have developed over the years. I will also be available to Dr. Rivers and Dr. West for any consultations, and continuity of care.

I wish you great success in your personal and professional lives and will miss all of you. We may bump into each other in the waiting room as Dr. West is my dentist now.

Sincerely,
Dr. Dale Tanner
